Home Team Report:
Not sure why lol but James had arranged to play a few warm up frames with Bunny on table 1 at Woking first. Other than zeroizing his expectations i’m not quite sure how else this would’ve helped him to produce such a spectacle? So the order came out James vs Ian, me vs Matt and Andy vs Paul i.e. exactly the same in the same order as last time! So it was suggested that Paul & Ian swap and reluctantly i went with it so Paul went on first! James won the toss and decided to break .. but, hand on the table and the standard long red sticking out that was James’ first, last and only shot that frame! Paul gets the long red and once in everyone sensed he was in the mood straight away. With the cue ball inch perfect every shot the century seemed inevitable and once he got that so did the total clearance. Into the 2nd and he basically carried on from where he left off getting red green red, playing safe putting James in trouble and getting in again for a 60 before finally missing one! This was James’ first look at trying to pot a red but it wasn’t easy and he was 65 behind so needed at least a pink with it - he missed, Bunny doubled it and cleared up lol. Was great to watch and afterwards i don’t think James minded watching either.

Me and Matt wanted to play again i think so no changing that. Right from the off tho, after cracking in a couple of tough long reds, it was obvious he was feeling sharper! A good safety tho got me the first real chance but unfortunately got a kick on the first red and never recovered decent position. Another long red and Matt picked up 5 pink’s and immediately after, another long red and 27. Once again the second frame turned scrappy very quickly and i was on the back foot again early on. So with balls the way they were was pleased with the 40 i had to go 30 odd in front. But just 1 great safety from Matt the game turned and the counter clearance was on! A few blacks later only 20 behind it was looking ominous ..until on the last safe ball (last red) the double popped out and stayed over the middle. Although not the prettiest it was a good standard and enjoyed the battle. Andy’s frames with Ian went much the same with the balls going awkward. Andy was potting well tho and in front until he missed a relatively easy red trying to do too much with the cue ball. Ian’s 30 with low value colours was decisive and altho Andy got the snookers required he never got a chance at the brown. With just about every colour safe in the second barring the pink to one pocket Ian missed leaving Andy right in nicely on the red to get on that pink until it came back, cannoned it out the way and instead was forced to leave a long, difficult pressure blue. Could not have got closer but at 100mph it somehow hung on the lip. Ian soon sorted the blue and pink spot areas out and took all that was there. Good frame winning 52 considering.

That particular night losing 4-2 would’ve been a result but 5-1 wasn’t a bad result either, well played lads! Finished quite early so enjoyed a good couple of hrs eating pizza and watching the snooker after.
