Away Team Report:
Clash of 1st and 2nd but after last weeks results it was just about decided so nothing really on this one but was enjoyable and competitive as ever !
Martin got off to a flyer against Clive. With runs of 23, 21, 17 & 14 straight out the gate Clive was 80 odd 30 odd behind before he looked round. He got back into it well however with a handful of teen breaks and got to 100 first while Martin seemed to have totally dried up! He never did get back what he showed in the first 20mins and Clive continued to run away till the end.
Not much to play for but certainly felt like there was haha! Extra pressure to be undefeated all season as me and Stuart both found. Our team had the top 9/10 breaks too so gunning for a 55 or more as well lol. So as it quite often does was running as awkwardly as possible the first half for both of us! Tom tho had a very neat and tidy 38 to go 90 odd to 40 odd in front and really put me under pressure. I was 79-126 down when i got a red double (well treble lol) which gave me perfect TOTT… I stayed there till i got to 56 when i suddenly had to reroute position.. hitting it hard screwing back i missed a straight red off the spot and fluked it 100 mph! Gave myself like 2 mins to process what i’d just done .. but i didn’t / couldn’t lol and missed the next shot anyway! Then, a perfect finish from there Tom’s on 22 with a near straight red off spot for 25unf… and misses it !! Again i struggled with the shock of this but got a nice cannon with what looked like perfect position , but it wasn’t .. not quite. Fair play to Tom, he played a great game and tbf only 150 up at that standard (such a short race).. i easily could’ve lost 4 or 5 other close ones like that but he put me under early pressure and held it together well at the end so no complaints.
Not much to say about my dad’s game other than Mark played really well ! He really didn’t get much of a look’in and thought he’d done well to get past 50 with the limited chances he had.
Very well played guys, only our second loss all season and if u three all play like that every week we’ll certainly have our work cut out next season.
