Away Team Report:
George picked himself against me like he does in the snooker every time our teams meet. He beat me off the table last season 150-70 and i didn’t really have a chance! He started well again this time too with a 14 and then a 18 both ending when my yellow got potted rather unfortunately to say the least! So i got my first good chance at 32-0 down and all i kept thinking was about last time and how i can’t afford to resent. Was perfectly at the top on 95 and played the 5 shot in fear of covering myself for my first Byfleet Billiards League century which i wasn’t about to risk. Two losers off the red later i miss-judged where to put the cue ball for the rescue drop cannon which was ashame cos i felt so composed for the runout. The run of the ball continued in my favour and to rub it in i started my 22 at the end with the most outrageous cannon involving 4 contacts and 9 cushions! Always like playing George tho cos he always brings the best out of me whether it’s Snooker, Billiards or even Pool
As good as our start seemed for my team tho that’s really where it ended. John really struggled after his 26 very early on but still found himself 80-67 in front before Chris finally caught him and with no website breaks, but runs of 24 and 22 close together it was enough to run away with it leaving John just 4 short of 2 points. Clive’s game with Stu was a good standard all the way through. The highlight for us being Clive’s nice 43 break but cos he started it 20 behind it only took him 20 in front at the half way stage. From 100 to 140 Clive was always that bit in front so was a really dramatic finish with everything on the last few shots! In the end Clive missed a really difficult short jenny with the red hanging over the baulk pocket and Stuart composed himself over the line well to snatch the win from us again. Well played guys, was a really great match that was thoroughly entertaining!
