This result along with Oatlands beating Staines throws the Division wide open. Its anyones guess as to who will take the title this season.

Home Team Report:
The 1st match of the 2nd half of the season and wow, what an evening it was. In the 1st frame it was nip and tuck all the way between the 2 Steve’s. Steve D kept eking out 15 to 20 point leads and Steve B kept clawing them back. Some excellent shot-making, some inexplicable misses and some outrageous flukes on both sides combined to make this an extremely exciting match with Steve D finally winning the frame by just 3 points thanks to an excellent pot red off his “wrong foot”. This always looked to be the deciding frame in the match so well done Steve D for reversing the result against the same opponent back in February. In the 2nd frame I played by far my best match this season posting 2 20+ breaks and 5 or 6 others in the teens. I quickly ran up a substantial lead and a strangely out of sorts Paul was never able to mount a serious challenge. However. when it looked increasingly like I was going to win 3-0 Paul dug deep and found a couple of very nice runs to claim his point. These 2 frames were only the appetizers to the main course set to be served by “The Master”. But home table advantage and the late evening humidity almost provided the shock of the season. Mark was seemingly unable to adjust to the throw of our table and the slightly lively balls plus when set for a large contribution with “Postman’s knock” a terrible kick stopped him at 10. But, despite only scoring in relatively small bursts Mark quickly built a 98-25 lead. Then Lol made a very well worked 23 which boosted his confidence considerably. Mark fluked a red to go past the 100 points but for several visits afterwards was hardly able to buy a leave. Lol grafted away and eventually passed 100 with Mark still only on 119. Could he do it? Unfortunately not. A missed red by Lol left Mark with an excellent opportunity and summoning all his ability he posted a faultless 32 to run out. Congratulations to Lol for being the 1st person to take 2 points off Mark this season. A great result for New Haw which puts us right in the thick of things. With 5 teams in the mix for the title this season looks like being the most exciting for years. Thanks Woking for a most enjoyable evening.
