Real Match Report
In the first frame, despite not playing fluently, I raced into a 60+ lead only to lose my way completely after reaching 90. Trevor played very well to catch and at one stage overtake me, however a few easy leaves and a couple of rare flukes saw me home. Phew! In frame 2, both Kelvin and Steve started off cueing and scoring well, with Kelvin unlucky not to extend his 26 break into something considerably more substantial. Steve did extremely well to catch him as they passed 100 but then for some reason just stopped scoring, allowing Kelvin to run out a comfortable, if not by his own standards convincing, winner. In the 3rd frame unfortunately Lol’s early season struggles continued to haunt him with virtually nothing going right. Against an improving Tony Charlton, who’s form is once again approaching the excellent standards he achieved a few years ago, there was only going to be one result. And so it proved as Tony’s touch, accurate positioning and excellent potting ended in a convincing victory. Despite the change in personnel since last season, Staines are going to be very difficult to dethrone. Thanks guys for an enjoyable (if very cold) evening.
