Home Team Report: A fantastic Woking team brutally beat up the home side in devastating fashion this week at the market square, Clayton dominated the opener against Fraser & it was roles reversed in the second as Fraser levelled thanks to a 44 break. Leonard defeated a gallant Walch in the next to put the away side 3-1 up. The best was yet to come the ultra impressive Bunyard hammered Connors to a pulp with two sizable contributions, early doors Bunyard struggled to find his range, the next thing bang...a 55 break to secure the victory & a 4-1 lead, the last frame was vintage Bunyard, Connors had played a lucky safety shot which left Bunyard in a whole heck of trouble, he attempted to pot his way out of it, but in missing he also got lucky in leaving his opponent a difficult red to the corner pocket, Connors missed & what followed was a pleasure to watch, Bunyard picked red after red off & was from what I can remember never out of position the icing on the cake was the final red which was stuck behind the black spot & never went, he potted the colour nudged into the red & pushed it into a potable position, he coolly proceeded to clear the rest of the table with pinpoint accuracy & a brilliant final black to round off a wonderful break...cracking performance from the former England international.
This league is blessed with some talented players & a certain Mr Bunyard proved once again what a force he is when in the right frame of mind, the performances have gradually been getting better & better each week on his part & it was only a matter of time before something gave, unfortunately for Staines it was them who where on the wrong end of his punishment but never the less a fine performance from a fine player...well done Paul.
